CONCORD – Exciting
changes are in the future at New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation’s
Jericho Mountain State Park. By late July, there will be a new campground with
more amenities to follow for spring of 2013.
The campground is anticipated to be open by July 26; it will offer primitive camping this season with five cabins, six tent sites and nine RV sites, with only water available and porta potties. As OHRV is a popular activity at the park, with 75 miles of trails, sites will accommodate OHRVs as well. Reservations will start being taken by the second week of July.
Jericho Mountain State Park offers a day-use area with a beach for swimming, pavilion and boat launch. A tollbooth for the park is being added this week and daily park fees will be charged. The fee is $4 for adults and $2 for children 11 and under.
Over the fall and winter, more additions will be happening at Jericho Mountain State Park, including bathhouse development, site work and septic for the Visitor’s Center. These will be available for the 2013 season.
