New Hampshire Grand has announced that TNT
Guide Service’s Eagle Tour, a pontoon boat adventure through the pristine and
picturesque Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge in Errol, N.H., has been named
a Certified Grand Adventure. The 14 Grand Adventures of Northern New Hampshire
are among the best experiences that the region has to offer based on guidelines
developed by New Hampshire Grand, the official visitor information source for
the Great North Woods and the Northern White Mountains.
The Eagle Tour offers visitors a tailor built pontoon boat trip through the Refuge’s active great blue heron, loon and moose habitat.
Maine and New Hampshire registered guide Bob Dupuis shares his insights along the journey to a remote eagle’s nest accessed only by boat. The location of the nest, while different each year, provides a one of one of-a-kind experience observing nesting eagles. In 2009, the Boston Globe selected the Refuge’s lake and wetlands as one of the top 10 best paddling destinations in New England.
“Lake Umbagog’s National Wildlife Refuge is such an uninhabited and pristine wilderness and is a renowned destination for paddlers, anglers and wildlife enthusiasts,” said Dupuis. “To be able to provide not only access to this remote location in a safe and enjoyable way to groups and families, but also to provide an experience of a lifetime, is a delight for me. I get to share my knowledge and passion for this spectacular area, and I am very thankful to be recognized as a Certified Grand Adventure by New Hampshire Grand.”
According to New Hampshire Grand, Dupuis is an experienced guide and oversees seamless logistics during the Tour. He brings clients to the best fishing holes, swimming spots and wildlife viewing locations on the Lake and treats them to snacks and a grilled lunch on board the pontoon boat.
“We are thrilled and take great pride in honoring TNT Guide Services and Bob Dupuis with this distinction and look forward to promoting this outstanding North Country adventure,” said Pam Sullivan, branding coordinator for New Hampshire Grand.
According to Sullivan, as the 14th Certified Grand Adventure TNT Guide Services has proven itself to be “worth the drive or flight from anywhere in the country” by meeting the following criteria:
- Has been endorsed by at least 1
national or 2 regional media
- Has been rated 3 to 1 positive by consumer endorsement/feedback from notable sources such as tripadvisor.com, yelp.com, or similar sites.
- Is different, better, first or biggest - compared to similar offerings within a 3-hour driving radius of Boston and Montreal.
- If a seasonal adventure, is open at least 60 days of the year.
- Has participatory/interactive elements to the adventure.
- Communicates any required safety guidelines through literature, etc.
Dupuis is certified in first aid and CPR and
is fully insured. As a member of the NH Guides Association, TNT Guide Service

The 13 other Certified Grand Adventures of New Hampshire Grand are AMC High Huts of the White Mountains, ATV’ing in New Hampshire’s North Country, Bretton Woods Canopy Tour, The Cog Railway, Year-Round Dog Sledding Adventures, Mount Washington Auto Road, Northern Forest Canoe Trail, Santa’s Village, Mount Washington Observatory, The Snowmobile Highway, Team O’Neil Rally School, Tuckerman Ravine, and White Water Rafting.
“TNT Guides Services is yet another company that has shown how much Northern New Hampshire has to offer to those who are seeking adventure and one-of-a-kind experiences on their vacation,” said Sullivan.
